Frequently Asked Questions

Cannabius is currently in beta. This page explains what the app does, how it works, and how your data is handled so you can use it with clear expectations. If something isn’t covered here, you can always reach out through the in-app feedback form.
Cannabius is an educational app that helps adults make more informed cannabis choices by focusing on effects rather than hype.

It does this in two main ways:

Explorer helps you explore cannabis products using effect tags derived from lab data.

Tracker lets you privately log what you try and how it feels so you can learn what works for you over time.

Cannabius is designed to help you understand cannabis variability, not to tell you what will work for everyone.
Hunter is the Cannabius feature that lets you explore cannabis products through effect-based browsing. Instead of only looking at strain names or THC percentage, Hunter uses lab data from Certificates of Analysis (COAs) to identify terpene and cannabinoid profiles. These profiles are translated into simple effect tags, such as relaxed, focused, uplifting, or body-heavy.

With Hunter, you can:
• Browse products by the effects you’re interested in.
• Compare items side by side without needing to interpret raw lab data.
• Narrow results to listings from specific dispensaries or locations (when available).

Hunter’s goal is to give you a clear, evidence-informed way to shop based on how products may feel rather than just on brand or potency.
Tracker is your private, personal logbook inside Cannabius. It’s designed to help you keep track of what you’ve tried, how it made you feel, and whether you’d buy it again.

With Tracker, you can:
• Record products you’ve used along with effect notes.
• Track whether each product delivered what you hoped for (relief, focus, creativity, better sleep, etc.).
• Build a history that makes it easier to see which terpene or cannabinoid profiles tend to work best for you.
• Use your personal records to make more informed choices the next time you shop.

Tracker turns your cannabis use into a data-driven experience, so instead of guessing, you’re learning from your own results over time.
Cannabius is built on Certificates of Analysis (COAs), which are lab reports that show the chemical makeup of cannabis products. These reports include information about cannabinoids (like THC, CBD, CBG) and terpenes (the aromatic compounds that strongly influence effects).

Here’s how Cannabius makes that data useful:
Step 1: Collect COA data – Gather the cannabinoid and terpene results from a product’s lab report. Only products with lab reports are included in Cannabius listings.

Step 2: Analyze terpene and cannabinoid mix – Different terpenes are linked to certain effect patterns. For example, limonene is often associated with uplifting or mood-elevating effects, while myrcene may be linked to relaxation or body-heavy effects.

Step 3: Translate into effect tags – Instead of showing you percentages and chemical names, Cannabius, through the Hunter feature, maps those findings to mood tags (e.g., calm, creative), functional tags (e.g., sleepy, focused, pain relief), and body tags (e.g., relaxed, light, body-heavy).

Step 4: Display in the app – Products appear with effect tags so you can browse, compare, and make choices based on how the product is likely to feel, not just the name or THC percentage.

This process doesn’t guarantee a specific experience—cannabis affects everyone differently—but it gives you a clearer, lab-informed starting point for finding what works for you.
No. Cannabius is an educational tool, not a health care service.

• Cannabius does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition.
• Using Cannabius, contacting support, or receiving emails from us does not create a doctor patient relationship.
• Product information and effect tags come from interpreting lab reports and other sources. Data can be incomplete or change over time.
• Effects vary widely by person. What worked for one person may not work for another.
• Cannabis can carry risks, including impairment and dependence. It may interact with medications and may be unsafe for people who are pregnant, nursing, or who have certain medical or mental health conditions.
• For personal guidance, speak with a licensed clinician familiar with cannabis and your medical history.
• For urgent or severe symptoms, call emergency services or go to the nearest emergency department.
• Cannabius is for adults of legal age only in their jurisdiction.
Cannabius is intended only for adults who are legally permitted to use cannabis where they live. Specifically:

• In most U.S. states, that means 21 years of age or older for adult-use cannabis.
• In medical-only states, access may be limited to registered medical cannabis patients who meet state requirements.
• By using Cannabius, you certify that you meet the legal age or patient requirements in your jurisdiction.
• Cannabius does not promote use by minors or by anyone in a jurisdiction where cannabis remains prohibited.
• Users are responsible for knowing and following the laws that apply to them.
Cannabius is currently in a beta release, which means it’s an early public version still being tested and improved. Beta status sets expectations for users and gives me the opportunity to learn directly from your feedback.

What “beta” means for you:
• Some features may be incomplete or change over time.
• You may encounter bugs, missing data, or quirks in how the app behaves.
• Product listings and lab data may not be fully comprehensive yet.
• I'm actively watching how people use the app so I can improve it before a wider release.

Why run a beta?
• To identify and fix problems quickly with the help of real users.
• To make sure the Hunter and Tracker features are useful in practice, not just in theory.
• To understand what’s most valuable to users so I know what to prioritize next.

By joining the beta, you’re helping shape the future of Cannabius. Your feedback makes a direct impact on the app’s development.
Cannabius has a built-in feedback form you can access from the app or the website. The form can be used for anything you want to share—bug reports, ideas for new features, thoughts on design, or general impressions.

When reporting an issue, it helps if you include:
• A short title or subject (e.g., “Hunter screen not loading”)
• What you expected to happen vs. what actually happened
• Steps to reproduce the problem, if possible
• The device and browser or app version you were using
• A screenshot, if that makes it clearer

When suggesting improvements, you can add:
• What you’d like to see changed or added
• Why it matters to your experience

Every submission goes directly to me, the founder. I read each one personally and use your input to guide what gets fixed or built next. Whether it’s a bug, a feature request, or just an opinion, your feedback shapes Cannabius.
Yes. Cannabius is built with a privacy-first mindset because I know the information you share may relate to your health and it deserves to be treated with care. I never sell or rent your data, and I only use it to make the app work for you. I am a budtender for a medical dispensary so I am HIPAA trained and I bring that standard of confidentiality to how I handle your information. If you ever want your data removed, you can contact me directly and I’ll delete it.
Because Cannabius depends on lab reports and dispensary listings, mistakes can sometimes slip through—labels change, products get reformulated, or data is entered wrong. If you notice anything that looks off, I’d appreciate it if you let me know through the feedback form. That report comes straight to me, and I’ll review it personally. In some cases I can correct the information directly, and in others I may need to follow up with the dispensary or manufacturer. Either way, I take accuracy seriously because I know reliable product info matters when you’re making decisions about your health and your experience.
Yes. Cannabius is free to use during beta.
